We awoke Monday morning and proceeded downstairs to find a deceased rodent displayed for us in the living room. Thankfully the perpetrator/defender did not bring it upstairs as tribute. (We don’t know for sure if it was Peaches, but the other cat is a fluff ball so it probably was.)
I placed the dead mouse in a Gaby et Jules box and labeled it very visibly, because a mouse in a macaron box is not a practical joke that I’d play on someone while in quarantine. Later, we buried the mouse in the backyard and recycled the box.
Today we attempted to jump start Scott’s Forester, which has been sitting in front of our house for a month. Unfortunately, the battery is all dead, not just mostly dead. It’s 6 years old, and we’d had a little trouble with it right before the quarantine started, so this is not surprising. Oh well, it’s not like we need to go anywhere! (I ordered a new battery anyway.)
I finished reading a book about Lagom, and there was a recipe for Raggmunk on page 248, so I tried it. We don’t have any Lingonberry jam so we used Black Raspberry. Note the 1:1 ratio of jam to pancake in the photo.
The novelty of the chair fort had worn out, and we had an abundance of carboard boxes around, so we built a new fort after thoroughly sweeping and cleaning the floor. Really the kiddo built it while I “supervised”. Later, while I was working, Scott helped reinforce the boxes with a lot of painter’s tape.
Today we made face masks out of bandannas and coffee filters. I kind of wish I lived in an ant country like Finland right now instead of one that is being run by an arrogant narcissist grasshopper. Sigh.
Scott wore his to the grocery store and reported that most of the younger people were wearing masks, but older people, such as those who should have been there during senior hours, were in “DGAF Mode”. I think we’re going to be here for a while. Heavy sigh.
